Make Magna Work for You
Priorities
These priorities were developed through thoughtful and long conversations with friends, family, professionals, government officials, and community members. They represent the core solutions to many of the problems we face and hopes for our future.
Ultimately, my goal is to serve and advocate though. Please read through them and send my your thoughts. Positive or critical. I’ll welcome the feedback.
Empower citizens by making Magna’s ordinances easy to understand and more citizen-friendly

Provide a transparent recommendation report to remove outdated and redundant code
Clarify language that may be difficult for residents or small business owners to interpret in the code so that it works for Magna
Use public forums and surveys to solicit feedback
Ensure services are efficient, transparent, and accountable
Conduct a citizen-focused performance review of MSD services (e.g., waste, streets, planning)
Initiate public discussions on whether certain services should be localized under Magna’s direct control like cities of our same size
Develop a transparent recommendation report for the council, informed by resident surveys and service delivery data.
Make city government accessible, responsive, and human
Host monthly "Meet the Mayor" events at local coffee shops, restaurants, or libraries.
Organize District Walks, so that the Mayor and district councilperson can see for themselves the needs of the community and talk with the people
Create Mobile Office Hours - or time dedicated to meet, talk, and communicate digitally
Use digital tools (e.g., social media town halls, suggestion boxes) to gather feedback.
Ensure that there is a presence at community events where the council and mayor host Q&A sessions and solicit feedback
Build equity, dignity, and access for all Magna residents
Partner with local non-profits and businesses to create a Community Resource Council—addressing food access, housing support, and job training.
Work with the council to explore a Magna Mini-Grant Program to fund neighborhood improvement projects led by residents.
Explore a “Civic Saturdays” program where youth and families volunteer in beautification and local support efforts.
Build strong relationships with neighboring cities, the county, and the state to attract opportunities
Build on Magna Intergovernmental Affairs to align on growth, water, traffic, and housing plans with surrounding communities.
Lead efforts to plan growth that reflects Magna’s character, avoiding overdevelopment while enabling affordability and business opportunity.
Why I am Running
Decided to do a video talking why i am running, and being more open about who I am. Feel free to give it a watch, it is a long form video, but i hope it brings us a bit closer in understanding where I am at, and why i am running.
